Orange County’s Inaugural Recovery Happens Picnic Draws More Than 720 People

Cloudy, drizzly weather didn’t stop Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵ staff and members from participating in the first-ever Recovery Happens Picnic! The inaugural event, sponsored by , occurred on September 16 in Santa Ana, California. The focus was simple: To host a clean and sober event for people in recovery and those who support them.

There were 11 community resource tables, including one sponsored by Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵ programs across Orange County. Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵ volunteers from STEPS, TAO South, and OC AOT programs offered participants a chance to win a prize by competing in a mini cornhole game.

There were free burgers, chips, sodas and shaved ice, popcorn, a live band, yard games, a crafts booth, and a jump house enjoyed by more than 720 participants.
